# Respan API (tracing)

> Route LLM calls through the Respan gateway using the API directly — full observability, 1000+ models, prompt management.

The Respan gateway provides an OpenAI-compatible API endpoint that gives you access to 1000+ models from all major providers through a single API key and base URL. Every gateway request is automatically captured as a trace, so you get full observability without any SDK setup.

Create an account at [platform.respan.ai](https://platform.respan.ai) and grab an [API key](https://platform.respan.ai/platform/gateway/api-keys).

Run `npx @respan/cli setup` to set up with your coding agent.
