Claude Code
Agentic CLI that edits files, runs commands, and navigates codebases autonomously
The top alternatives to Gemini CLI in the Coding Agents space, compared on features, pricing, and what they're best at.

Gemini CLI gives you an open-source coding agent in the terminal with a generous free tier and a 1M token context window, but it runs on Gemini models only. People look for Gemini CLI alternatives when they want a different model family for coding, an agent that can switch between providers, or a tool whose pricing fits heavier daily use than the free tier covers.
Claude Code and OpenAI Codex are the closest matches, each a terminal agent built around its own company's models. OpenCode and Aider take the opposite approach, working with models from many providers, so you pick the model separately from the agent. The rest of this list covers other coding agents, from IDE extensions to fully autonomous agents that work through tasks on their own.
Whichever agent you choose, the run itself is easy to lose track of once it spans dozens of model calls, file edits, and shell commands. Respan traces Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode sessions with one setup command each, so switching agents doesn't mean losing visibility into what the agent did or what it cost.
One platform for routing, observability, tracing, and evals across every LLM provider.
